Where Cementitious Coating Works Best

Our cementitious waterproofing is suitable for protecting internal concrete surfaces and masonry structures effectively against water infiltration. Commonly used in earth-retaining foundation walls, lift pits, and podium decks, our waterproof coating helps guard concrete from negative water pressure. It provides dependable results for habitable basements and plant rooms, ensuring surfaces stay dry and structurally sound.

Our waterproofing membrane is ideal for water tanks and swimming pools, resisting hydrostatic pressure effectively. It offers reliable waterproofing solutions for both vertical surfaces and concrete elements, creating a secure barrier against moisture and damp substrates. Car parks also benefit significantly, staying protected and structurally intact despite continuous exposure to water pressure.

What to Consider Before Application

Before applying cementitious waterproofing coatings, ensure the substrate is clean, structurally sound, and free from contaminants. Proper preparation of concrete and masonry surfaces ensures excellent adhesion and a lasting waterproof coating. Our technical team recommends assessing the surface thoroughly to avoid compromising the protective layer.

To achieve uniform thickness and effective waterproofing, substrates must be damp but free of standing water. This careful preparation ensures our fibre-reinforced cementitious coating adheres well and withstands positive and negative pressure. Proper application techniques also reduce risks associated with negative pressure and water infiltration.

Achieving Long-Term Waterproofing Performance

Long-lasting waterproofing relies heavily on correct application methods. When applying the first coat of our cementitious waterproofing membrane, it must be spread evenly using a pin leveller or similar tool, followed by an appropriate drying time. A second coat ensures consistent performance, adding further protection and ensuring resistance to hydrostatic pressure.

Regular inspection of surfaces after application can detect any inconsistencies early, maintaining effective protection. Our waterproofing materials are among the easiest to use, allowing for year-round application with minimal disruption. This consistent approach delivers dependable waterproofing results for protecting concrete and masonry from long-term water damage.

Advantages of Cement-Based Waterproofing Solutions

Cementitious waterproofing coatings offer numerous practical advantages, notably their ability to resist both positive and negative water pressures. They effectively prevent moisture ingress, significantly enhancing the lifespan of structures like earth-retained structures and basement walls. Being non-toxic, our waterproofing solutions are ideal for applications like water tanks and wet areas.

Another major benefit is their exceptional resistance to carbon dioxide gas penetration, effectively protecting concrete cover. This ensures concrete structures remain durable and resistant to environmental damage over extended periods. Our cementitious waterproofing membrane provides reliable performance, suitable for various construction scenarios.

The Licata waterproofing system provides everything you need to achieve comprehensive protection from water intrusion including:

FlexTape 200

Licata FlexTape 200 is a waterproofing tape with special thermoplastic elastomers that can be fused with any standard hot air sealer. It provides outstanding resistance to hydrostatic pressure, is stubbornly resistant to breaking or tearing and is resistant to hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, citric acid and more. FlexTape 200 is most commonly used for the waterproofing of expansion joints and other types of joints typically encountered in construction projects.

Hydro Monoelasto 100

Hydro Monoelasto 100 was created to ensure high-quality waterproofing performance on a wide variety of commonly used cement substrates. It can be applied effectively using a trowel, a roller and in some instances, a brush. This is a single-component, elastic cement waterproofing sheath that is resistant to UV rays, exhibits high adhesion strength and is easy to work with. For those that insist on the highest level of waterproofing and protection of substrates. Hydro Monoelasto 100 is UNI EN 1504-2 and UNI EN 14891 certified.

Hydroblock 45 S

Hydroblock 45 S binds instantly to stop water flow even when it’s under pressure. It is particularly suited to the waterproofing of ground walls, underground structures, elevator compartments and the like. It can be employed either as an intermediate or final layer before the application of decorative coatings or paint. Hydroblock 45 S is highly resistant to hydrostatic thrust and will effectively counteract both positive and negative water penetration. Its robust adhesive power makes it suitable for waterproofing of all cementitious substrates.

Lica Armor 1000

Lica Armor 1000 is micro-perforated reinforcement fabric used to bolster cementitious polymeric and bituminous waterproofing products. This durable and versatile fabric provides high mechanical performance with robust elongation and tear resistance, is chemically stable and easy to apply. Lica Armor 1000 extends your ability to mask cracks and increases the potential scope of your crack-bridging efforts. Common solvents used in most polymer sheaths will not affect it.

LicaFlex 100 adhesive sealant

LicaFlex 100 sealant provides high-performance sealing of horizontal and vertical joints as well as sealing of pavements and parking lots. LicaFlex is compatible with most common substrates used in most construction projects these days. LicaFlex 100 can be applied to all suitable indoor and outdoor substrates including cement mortars and concrete, plastic, wood and metal. Even if you have a parking lot that routinely experiences a heavy volume of traffic LicaFlex 100 will stand its ground and provide long-term coverage.

Licalastic reflex

Licalastic Reflex is a single-component white paint designed to provide reliable protection against the ravages of UV light. It is suited to work effectively with all the most common construction materials including concrete, cement mortars, gypsum, lime, mixed plasters, bricks, tiles and terracotta to name just a few. Licalastic Reflex exhibits high adhesive power even under extreme conditions and is resistant to chlorine and CO2. It will maintain its crack bridging ability right down to -20 C.
