Features & Benefits

Why specify Hydro Monoelasto 100 liquid waterproofing membrane?

🏅

Certified Liquid Waterproofing Membrane

Certified to UNI EN 14891 as a waterproof cement mortar resistant to chlorine with crack bridging ability at -20°C — classified as CM02P. Also certified to UNI EN 1504-2 for concrete protection coating in accordance with PI, MC and IR principles.

🌞

UV Resistant — Suitable as Final Layer

Resistance to UV rays is a key characteristic of this liquid waterproofing membrane, the result of dedicated R&D by Licata's laboratories. It can be used as a final exposed layer without risk of degradation from UV exposure.

🌡️

Crack Bridging at -20°C

This liquid waterproofing membrane maintains crack bridging ability of ≥1.25mm at -20°C — providing reliable waterproofing performance even in the most demanding freeze-thaw environments.

🏗️

Concrete Protection

Hydro Monoelasto 100 prevents atmospheric CO2 from penetrating, protecting concrete against the effects of carbonation. CO2 permeability Sd exceeds 225m — far above the 50m minimum requirement.

💪

High Adhesion Strength

This polymer-modified liquid waterproofing membrane achieves initial adhesion of ≥1.4 N/mm² — and maintains adhesion after immersion in water, freeze-thaw cycles, heat exposure and chemical aggression.

Easy to Apply

Spherical quartz inert materials with a constant particle size curve make this liquid waterproofing membrane extremely spreadable — suitable for application by brush, roller or trowel to meet all site requirements.

Product Description

Hydro Monoelasto 100 — Elastic Liquid Waterproofing Membrane

Hydro Monoelasto 100 is Licata's single-component elastic cement liquid waterproofing membrane — polymer-modified and manufactured with high resistance hydraulic binders, selected aggregates and special additives. Developed specifically for waterproofing and protecting concrete, this liquid waterproofing membrane delivers superior flexibility, tenacity, high adhesion and excellent surface mechanical strength.

This liquid waterproofing membrane is certified to UNI EN 14891 as a waterproof cement mortar with crack bridging ability at -20°C (classified CM02P) and meets UNI EN 1504-2 requirements for concrete protection coating. It is UV resistant and can be used as a final layer or as an intermediate layer prior to laying ceramic or decorative tiles.

Applied in a minimum of two coats to achieve a final thickness of 3–4mm, this liquid waterproofing membrane can be reinforced with licataTHERM 160 fibreglass mesh embedded between the first and second coats on challenging substrates — including micro-cracked surfaces, substrates subject to movement, or interfaces between different materials.

Preparation & Mixing

Preparing Hydro Monoelasto 100

1
Substrate preparation: Mechanically remove all flaking or peeling parts. Clean thoroughly — free of dust, detergents, oils, greases, waxes, gypsum and salt.
2
Mixing: Use 4.8–5.8 litres of clean water per 20kg bag. Pour this liquid waterproofing membrane into a container with three quarters of the water. Mix for 3 minutes at low speed until a lump-free mixture is achieved.
3
Important: Do not add water or more powder to the mixed product. Do not split bags for partial mixing. Use within 60 minutes of mixing.
Application

Applying the liquid waterproofing membrane

1
First coat: Apply the liquid waterproofing membrane by brush, roller or trowel at a maximum thickness of 1.5mm per coat.
2
Curing between coats: Allow the first coat to cure for approximately 24 hours before applying the second coat.
3
Reinforcement mesh (if required): For challenging substrates — micro-cracked surfaces, movement interfaces, uneven areas — embed licataTHERM 160 fibreglass mesh between the first and second coats, then apply a third coat to achieve full coverage.
4
Final thickness: The completed liquid waterproofing membrane must be 3–4mm total thickness. Each coat must not exceed 1.5mm.
Note: Do not add water or powder to the mixed product. In extreme weather conditions (strong wind, midday sun) take precautions to avoid rapid drying. Protect curing membrane for at least 24 hours. Temperature must be between +5°C and +35°C.
