System Build-Up

Layer-by-layer system specification

This system combines Hydro Monoelasto 100 liquid waterproofing membrane with Super S1 deformable flexible tile adhesive, delivering a complete waterproofed substrate for marble and natural stone in bathrooms, showers and wet rooms. The S1 deformability absorbs movement between the waterproofing layer and tile, preventing detachment in conditions where moisture and temperature variation are constant.

Layer 1
Existing Substrate
Cement screed or concrete, clean, cured and structurally sound. Remove all flaking parts, dust and contamination before applying the waterproofing membrane.

Layer 2: Waterproofing Membrane
Hydro Monoelasto 100
Single-component elastic cement liquid waterproofing membrane, certified UNI EN 14891 and UNI EN 1504-2. Apply in two coats to 3 to 4mm total thickness. Allow 24 hours between coats. Use LicaBand BTS 100 at floor-wall junctions.

Layer 3: Flexible Tile Adhesive
Super S1
C2TE-S1 deformable flexible tile adhesive, certified UNI EN 12004 and UNI EN 12002. Apply at 2 to 5mm once the waterproofing membrane is fully cured (minimum 10 days). Back-butter marble tiles. Enhance with LicaLatex for maximum watertightness.

Layer 4: Tile
Marble or Natural Stone
Marble and natural stone tiles resistant to humidity, staining and efflorescence. Allow foot traffic after 24 to 36 hours. Full use after 14 days.

Layer 5: Grout
FugaTop Grout
FugaTop 0_8 for fine joints (0 to 8mm) typical of marble and polished stone. Ensure grout fully seals joints to complete the waterproof system.
