Keep rendering through winter.
Two products built for cold, damp UK sites. Raso W160 Winter skim coat and adhesive, and 4Seasons Silicone Render Enhanced topcoat, both applied from +1°C with no additives. Base, reinforce and finish an EWI system from November to March without waiting for the weather.
Base, reinforce and finish from +1°C
Standard renders and basecoats stop curing when the temperature drops, and most data sheets stop at +5°C. Raso W160 Winter and 4Seasons Silicone Render Enhanced are formulated for low temperatures and high humidity, so the full EWI build-up from board bonding to finished facade can continue through the coldest months.

What a winter formula changes on site
Work from +1°C, not +5°C
Most standard products are limited to +5°C and above. Both winter products apply from +1°C, which keeps the majority of UK winter days workable instead of lost.
No winter additives
The low-temperature performance is in the formula. Nothing extra to buy, dose or get wrong on site, and the certified system build-up stays as tested.
Handles damp air
4Seasons is designed for high relative humidity, and Raso W160 Winter is built to cure in cold, damp conditions where a standard basecoat would stall.
Programme certainty
Contractors on funded retrofit programmes carry fixed completion dates. A winter-rated system means those dates do not slip because of a cold snap.
Same system, same certification
Raso W160 Winter is certified for licataTHERM ETA / EAD systems. The winter range slots into the existing build-up rather than replacing it with something unfamiliar.
Cashflow through the quiet months
Rendering teams typically lose December to February. Keeping crews productive on winter-rated products keeps invoices going out when they usually stop.
What to expect at each temperature
Published data refers to 20°C. Colder air and higher humidity slow drying and curing on every product, including winter-rated ones. Use this as a planning guide and check ambient, substrate and material temperature before mixing.
| Site temperature | Raso W160 Winter | 4Seasons Silicone Render Enhanced | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Below +1°C | Do not apply | Do not apply | Do not apply to frozen or thawing substrates. Check the overnight forecast: the substrate must stay above +1°C while the product cures. |
| +1°C to +5°C | Apply | Apply | Expect extended workability and slower drying. Allow longer between coats and protect from rain, wind and overnight frost for at least 48 to 72 hours. |
| +5°C to +15°C | Apply | Apply | Typical UK autumn and spring conditions. Drying slower than published 20°C figures. Avoid application in fog, mist or persistent high humidity. |
| +15°C to +35°C | Apply | Apply | Standard conditions. Shield from direct sun and drying wind. Published drying and curing times apply at 20°C. |
