Overview

Support that starts before the order

Most problems on a render or external wall insulation project are decided long before anyone reaches site. The wrong system for the substrate, a detail that was never drawn, an insulation thickness that misses the target U-value, a finish that fails a planning condition — all of it is cheaper to fix at specification stage than in a variation.

That is where our technical team spends most of its time. Specification review, system selection, U-value calculations, project-specific detailing and installer training, provided as part of supplying the system rather than as an extra.

Getting a specification from us

Four steps from first enquiry to a specification you can issue.

Tell us the project

Substrate, building height, exposure, the target U-value and any planning or funding conditions that apply.

We review it

Our technical team assesses the substrate and constraints and identifies the system build-ups that suit the project.

You get the documents

A written specification with the U-value calculation, the relevant certificates and the standard details for the build-up.

Support through delivery

We stay involved through procurement and onto site, from samples and sample panels to installer training where needed.

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge for technical support?

Specification advice, system selection and U-value calculations are provided as part of supplying the system. We would rather get the specification right at the start than deal with a problem on site.

Contact us with your project details and we will confirm what we can provide.

How long does a specification or U-value request take?

Turnaround depends on the complexity of the project and how complete the information is when it reaches us. A straightforward domestic build-up is quicker than a multi-block scheme with several substrate types.

If you are working to a tender deadline, tell us the date when you submit the request and we will work to it.

What information do you need to produce a U-value calculation?

The existing wall construction and its thickness, the proposed insulant and finish, and the target U-value you need to achieve. Photographs of the elevation help, and a drawing helps more.

If you are not certain of the existing construction, tell us what you do know and we will advise what needs confirming on site.

Can you provide certificates for a tender submission?

Yes. System certificates are available from our downloads area, and our technical team can confirm which certificate covers the exact build-up you are proposing.

Check that the certificate you submit covers the specific build-up in the specification, including insulant type, thickness and finish, rather than a similar system.

Do you deliver CPD sessions to architects?

Yes. We deliver CPD presentations to architectural practices and specifier teams, at your office or online, covering render systems, external wall insulation and specification practice.

Can you support us on site during installation?

Yes. Site support is available for projects using Licata systems, covering the start of works, sample panel approval and any detailing queries that come up as the job progresses.

Where installers are new to our systems, we can arrange training before the programme starts rather than during it.
