Description

Licata Silsan Color

Waterproof, transpiring and mould-resistant acryl-siloxane paste coating. Ideal for decorating façades.

Main areas of use

It is particularly suitable to:
Decorate coat systems, in combination with transpiring (rock wool and the like) or non-transpiring (EPS, phenolic, etc.) panels. It is distinguished by its soft and uniform finish.

Recommended applications:
Covering and decoration of façades of all kinds (plasters, skim coats, etc.) with a waterproof finish. Resistant to mould attack and weathering, it is ideal both indoor and outdoor.

  • Suitable substrates (indoor and outdoor):
  • Thermal insulation systems
  • Thermal renders
  • Lime, cement or lime/cement base plasters
  • Reinforced skim coatings in façade restoration cycles
  • Precast and cast-in-place concrete

Characteristics

Water-repellent and semi-transpiring thanks to the balance between siloxanes and acrylic polymers.
The homogeneous finish allows you to decorate the surfaces with a soft uniform effect.
Compactness reduces waste and improves workability.
The high adhesion strength makes it compatible with all common substrates used in construction.

Key Features of Silsan Colour Facade Coating

Licata Silsan Color is a waterproof and semi-transpiring coating developed for long lasting protection of external surfaces. Its balanced formulation of siloxanes and acrylic polymers gives it high durability and consistent performance across common construction substrates.

It offers a soft and uniform finish, ideal for both functional and decorative use. The homogeneous finish helps create a soft uniform effect that improves surface appearance while reducing uneven textures. Its compactness reduces waste and improves workability on site.

These are the key physical properties and technical strengths that make this coating a reliable choice:

  • Water repellent and semi-transpiring: Helps surfaces breathe while preventing water intrusion
  • High adhesion strength: Compatible with all common substrates used in facade works
  • Resistant to mould attack and micro-organism growth: Maintains surface hygiene and aesthetics
  • Solvent free aqueous emulsion: Supports clean application with minimal environmental impact
  • Excellent stain release properties: Reduces build-up of dirt and water-soluble pollutants
  • Compatible with LicataColore 2.0: Offers a wide choice of colours and shades
  • Reliable under extreme weather: Resists frost damage and UV degradation

This facade coating is suitable for use in both commercial and residential applications, where surface durability and appearance are equally important.

Main Areas of Use Across Multiple Substrates

This coating is developed to decorate coat systems using a range of breathable and non-breathable materials, such as rock wool, EPS, phenolic panels and more. Whether working on new builds or restoration projects, Silsan Color can be integrated with different surface types with ease.

It is recommended for use on skim coats, plasters, thermal renders, concrete, and other alkaline building materials. Its chemical formulation supports impregnating alkaline building materials while preventing deterioration of the treated material over time.

You can confidently apply it to the following suitable substrates:

  • Lime and cement-based plasters
  • Reinforced skim coatings in façade restoration cycles
  • Precast and in-situ concrete
  • Thermal insulation systems (transpiring and non-transpiring)
  • Painted or unpainted substrate treated with finishing plasters

It delivers a waterproof finish while preserving water vapour permeability, allowing substrates to stay dry.

Ideal for Plasters, Renders and Natural and Artificial Stones

Silsan Colour Façade Coating performs exceptionally well on lime and cement plasters, skim coats, and all standard render finishes. It delivers a uniform finish that enhances both the appearance and durability of façade surfaces in restoration and new-build environments.

It is also highly compatible with Natural and Artificial Stones, forming a strong bond that provides complete protection without affecting the natural look or texture of the treated material. The formulation prevents damage caused by mould attack, dirt, and moisture, even on porous or decorative surfaces.

With natural colour shade options and a wide palette of colours compatible through the LicataColore 2.0 system, the coating supports detailed decoration work while delivering consistent performance across traditional and modern facades.
