CUPACLAD 101 Random natural slate rainscreen cladding
A dynamic, creative composition that combines three slate sizes on a single elevation. Horizontal 50x25, 50x20 and 50x15cm slates on an invisible fixing system, supplied in the UK by Licata Building Systems.
Three slate sizes, one dynamic elevation
The CUPACLAD 101 Random rainscreen cladding system revolutionises natural slate cladding installation by combining different slate sizes to generate a dynamic, creative composition.
CUPACLAD 101 Random is part of the CUPACLAD 101 series, made up of systems with invisible fixings that make natural slate the main attraction of a facade.
CUPACLAD 101 Random is synonymous with creativity and gives any facade an original design that makes the most of the flexibility and natural durability of the slate. It suits projects where the elevation is intended to carry visual interest and movement rather than a uniform coursing.
CUPACLAD 101 Random at a glance
The CUPACLAD 101 Random system is made up of 50x25, 50x20 and 50x15cm slates installed horizontally with concealed screws.
Concealed fixings across three slate sizes
The CUPACLAD 101 systems use self-drilling stainless steel screws with large diameter flat heads, specially selected by CUPA engineers to guarantee perfect fixing and to reduce installation times.
The screws enable various shapes and sizes of slate to be installed on the same elevation, and are totally concealed behind the slates in the row above, allowing the natural slate to shine out on its own.
Because the fixing is concealed, the finished elevation reads as a continuous slate surface, with the visual interest coming from the varied slate sizes rather than from any visible fixing.
Where CUPACLAD 101 Random suits
Elevations with visual movement
Where a uniform coursing would read as flat. The three slate sizes break up large expanses and give the facade texture and rhythm across its full height.
Feature and statement facades
Suited to projects where the facade is intended to be distinctive, and where the client or planning brief calls for an original composition rather than a standard one.
Ventilated rainscreen build-ups
Installed as a ventilated rainscreen over a supporting subframe, working alongside insulation to manage moisture and thermal performance across the facade.
