Layer-by-layer system specification

This system uses Flex HM C2TE tile adhesive with extended open time, specifically designed for large format ceramic tiles where accurate positioning requires more working time. The >30 minute open time and no vertical slip formulation makes it equally suited to large format wall tiles and oversized floor ceramics.

Layer 1
Existing Substrate
New cement screed or concrete base, cured, clean, flat and free from contamination. Wet to SSD before applying adhesive. Treat porous or absorbent substrates with Aggrappante LG primer.

Layer 2: Tile Adhesive
Flex HM
C2TE polymer-modified tile adhesive. Apply at 2 to 5mm with a 6 to 10mm notched trowel. Extended open time of >30 minutes. Always back-butter large format tiles (tiles >900cm²) as per UNI 11493.

Layer 3: Tile
Large Format Ceramic
All types of large format ceramic tile including rectified, double-fired, single-fired, clinker and terracotta. Allow foot traffic after 24 to 36 hours. Full loading after 14 days.

Layer 4: Grout
FugaTop Grout
Available in FugaTop 0_8 (0 to 8mm joints) or FugaTop 3_20 (3 to 20mm joints). Large format tiles typically use wider joints, so check the manufacturer's recommendations for the specific tile format.
