Aggrappante LG - Rendering Primer
Pigmented acrylic rendering primer for substrate preparation ahead of rendering
Aggrappante LG is a universal pigmented rendering primer and substrate primer from Licata — based on acrylic resins and natural silica inert fillers. This rendering primer is applied to the substrate before rendering — creating a rough, textured surface on smooth concrete for grip, and regulating absorption on porous substrates to prevent burn and ensure consistent drying of successive render layers.
Why specify Aggrappante LG rendering primer?
Creates Key on Smooth Substrates
The silica inert fillers in this rendering primer create a rough, textured surface on smooth concrete and other low-absorption substrates — giving render and skim coat systems the grip they need to bond effectively.
Regulates Absorption on Porous Substrates
As a substrate primer on porous and highly absorbent surfaces, Aggrappante LG regulates the drying of successive layers — preventing burn caused by the substrate drawing water too quickly from the render or skim coat.
Universal Rendering Primer
This substrate primer adheres to the most commonly used building substrates — smooth concrete, absorbent walls, particleboard and plasterboard — making it a single versatile rendering primer for most facade preparation work.
Low VOC Rendering Primer
Aggrappante LG contains extremely low levels of volatile organic compounds — well within European VOC limits (Category A/c, <30g/L) — making it a responsible choice on occupied and sensitive sites.
Fast Drying — Ready in 1–2 Hours
This rendering primer is touch dry within 1–2 hours at +20°C, with subsequent render or skim coat layers applicable once the substrate primer is fully cured — keeping projects on programme.
Pigmented — Pale Blue
Supplied in pale blue so it is easy to see where the rendering primer has been applied — ensuring 100% coverage without missed areas that could compromise adhesion of the render system.
Aggrappante LG — Rendering Primer for Substrate Preparation
Aggrappante LG is Licata's universal rendering primer and substrate primer — a pigmented, acrylic resin-based primer with natural silica inert fillers. It is specifically designed as a bridging primer on smooth surfaces ahead of rendering or skim coating cycles.
On smooth, low-absorption substrates such as vibrated concrete panels, this rendering primer creates a rough, textured surface that gives render and skim coatings the mechanical key they need to bond reliably. On absorbent substrates, Aggrappante LG acts as a substrate primer that regulates surface absorption — preventing the burn that occurs when a porous substrate draws water too rapidly from the applied render mix.
Aggrappante LG rendering primer is supplied ready to use and can be applied by brush, roller or airless spray. It is recommended for use on fully cured substrates — a minimum curing time of four weeks is advised before application of this substrate primer.
