Aura House
A mineral brick slip facade for new apartments in Wimbledon
Aura House is a new build apartment development in Wimbledon, South West London, delivered with a complete Licata external wall insulation system finished in mineral brick slips.
Mineral brick slips give a new build the warmth and texture of traditional brickwork at a fraction of the weight of real brick, applied over an insulated envelope rather than a second structural skin. For an apartment scheme, that means brick character on the street without the cost, weight and programme of masonry, and a facade that carries its insulation with it.
The insulated build-up significantly reduces heat loss through the external walls, helping the development meet the energy performance expected of modern new build housing while giving residents lower running costs from day one.

Licata EWI with a mineral brick slip finish
Licata Building Systems supplied the complete facade system: the Licata EWI system finished in mineral brick slips, bonded over the insulated build-up as one engineered facade. Mineral slips are factory-made for consistency of colour and size, light enough for an insulated substrate, and durable enough to keep the facade looking sharp for decades.
