Features & Benefits

Why specify Raso Top 1000?

🪶

Lightweight Formulation

Special spherical, hollow and lightened aggregates give Raso Top 1000 a significantly lower density than standard basecoats — reducing load on the structure and improving handleability on site.

🌡️

Thermal & Acoustic Insulating Properties

The lightweight hollow aggregate technology gives Raso Top 1000 good thermal and acoustic insulating properties — an added benefit over standard EWI adhesives and render basecoats.

🏗️

Universal Adhesive & Render Basecoat

Raso Top 1000 functions as both an adhesive for bonding EPS panels and a render basecoat for skim coating — adhering to the vast majority of common construction substrates.

Excellent Workability

Latest-generation additives give this product outstanding thixotropy, an improved open time and excellent spreadability — suitable for application both vertically and overhead.

📐

Regulating — Up to 10mm per Coat

Raso Top 1000 can be used as a regulating product on uneven surfaces up to 10mm per coat — ideal for restoring flatness on existing facades before applying a decorative finish.

🎨

Ideal Base for Decorative Coatings

Provides an ideal substrate for subsequent application of silicate, acrylic and siloxane decorative coatings — including Licata's Siloxan Color silicone render range.

Product Description

What is Raso Top 1000?

Raso Top 1000 is a universal lightweight adhesive and render basecoat — polymer-modified for indoor and outdoor use, manufactured with hydraulic binders, special lightweight hollow aggregates, selected sands and high-performance additives. It is specifically designed for bonding and smoothing EPS, graphite EPS and Neopor panels in external insulation finishing systems.

The addition of special spherical, hollow and lightened aggregates gives Raso Top 1000 good thermal and acoustic insulating properties — a key differentiator from standard EWI adhesives. Its high adhesion characteristics, excellent workability and improved open time also make it suitable as a skim coat on common cement substrates in general construction work.

Raso Top 1000 is an ideal render basecoat for subsequent application of silicate, acrylic and siloxane decorative coatings. Supplied as grey or white powder in 20kg bags.

Mixing

How to mix Raso Top 1000

1
Substrate preparation: Remove dust, loose or crumbling parts and clean thoroughly. The substrate must be fully cured. Remove any protective film from insulation panels before applying the product.
2
Mixing water: Use 5.6–6 litres of clean water per 20kg bag. Pour the product into a clean container with three quarters of the mixing water.
3
Mixing: Mix for around 3 minutes by hand or machine, gradually adding the remaining water until you achieve an even, lump-free thixotropic mixture. Rest for 1–2 minutes then remix before use.
4
Important: Do not split bags for partial mixes. Use only clean water. Do not apply on fresh, particularly alkaline bases — allow a minimum carbonation period of at least four weeks.
Note: Raso Top 1000 is not suitable for painting. A damp substrate helps extend the open time, but do not further wet the mixed mortar. Temperature must be between +5°C and +35°C. Protect fresh mortar against direct sunlight, strong wind and rain for at least 24 hours after application.
Application

Applying Raso Top 1000

1
Bonding on unrendered surfaces: Apply a 3–5cm band of product along the perimeter of the panel and 2–3 rings in the centre.
2
Bonding on rendered or flat surfaces: Apply on a full adhesive bed using a notched trowel.
3
Skim coat — first coat: Apply evenly and smoothly with a notched trowel, embedding the licataTHERM 160 reinforcement mesh in vertical strips with joints overlapping by at least 10cm.
4
Skim coat — second coat: Apply at least 24 hours after the first coat using a smooth trowel, covering the reinforcement mesh entirely. Finish with a sponge float as the product begins to dry.
5
Curing: Raso Top 1000 cures sufficiently for successive applications after 7 days at +20°C. Curing time varies depending on temperature, substrate and application conditions.
