Hidro Rep is a silicone masonry waterproofer from Licata — supplied as a ready-to-use aqueous dispersion with low environmental impact. This masonry waterproofer penetrates and waterproofs substrates in depth while leaving breathability completely unchanged. The invisible coating does not alter the appearance of treated surfaces and is fully stable to UV rays — making it ideal for the protection of historic masonry, natural stone, brick, render and a wide range of mineral substrates.

Hidro Rep — Silicone Masonry Waterproofer

Hidro Rep is Licata's silicone masonry waterproofer — a ready-to-use, single-component product supplied as an aqueous dispersion with low environmental impact. It waterproofs mineral surfaces in depth by impregnation, penetrating the substrate rather than forming a surface film — leaving breathability completely intact.

The invisible coating of this masonry waterproofer does not alter the aesthetics of the treated surface and is fully stable to UV rays — making it suitable for any surface where maintaining the existing appearance is essential. It also consolidates weak or powdery substrates and protects against microorganisms, pollutants and atmospheric agents.

Hidro Rep masonry waterproofer is particularly recommended for the invisible waterproofing treatment of masonry of historic interest — where appearance preservation, breathability and low environmental impact are all critical requirements.

Preparation

Preparing for masonry waterproofer application

Substrate preparation: The substrate must be clean, flat, cohesive and free from any release agents. Remove all friable, poorly cohesive or detaching parts before applying the masonry waterproofer.

Degraded substrates: Restore correct flatness with compatible Licata line materials before applying this masonry waterproofer. The substrate must be structurally sound for the waterproofer to be effective.

Preliminary test: On porous or variable substrates, carry out a preliminary absorption test to establish exact consumption before committing to full application. Consumption varies significantly by substrate porosity.

Mixing: Hidro Rep masonry waterproofer is ready to use — no dilution required. Homogenise with a low-speed mixer before application to ensure a consistent product.

Application

Applying the masonry waterproofer

Apply to refusal: Apply the masonry waterproofer in multiple coats until refusal — the substrate should be saturated to ensure deep impregnation. Use a brush, roller or airless spray.

100% coverage: Ensure complete coverage of all surfaces to be treated. Any untreated areas will remain unprotected — use the clear appearance of the product to identify coverage gaps before the product cures.

Avoid runs and excess: Do not allow the masonry waterproofer to pool, run or accumulate in joints or recesses — excess product can cause halos or whitish stains on the surface.

Curing: Protect the treated surface from rain, wind and direct sunlight for at least 48–72 hours after application to allow the masonry waterproofer to cure fully.

Important: Do not apply on highly alkaline substrates. Do not apply in fog, excessive humidity or on frozen surfaces. Protect eyes and hands during application. Wash tools with water immediately after use while the product is still fresh.
