Heather Court is a residential apartment building finished with a Licata silicone render system applied directly onto masonry. The project called for a high-quality, low-maintenance external finish that would protect the building and refresh its appearance for years to come.

The brief
The building needed a durable, attractive external finish applied directly to the existing masonry, one that would resist the British weather, stay looking clean, and avoid the ongoing maintenance and repainting that traditional finishes demand.
The Licata system
Licata supplied a silicone render system applied onto the masonry substrate. Silicone render is highly water-repellent yet breathable, allowing moisture to escape from the wall while keeping rain out. It is naturally resistant to dirt, algae and mould, and is through-coloured, so the finish never needs repainting and will not fade or peel like paint. Available in a wide range of colours, it gave the building a clean, modern, lasting finish.
The outcome
The completed silicone render finish has transformed the appearance of Heather Court, giving it a clean, contemporary look while providing a tough, weather-resistant and breathable external envelope.
