Water Band is a pre-formed waterproofing tape from Licata — a polyester mesh fabric substrate coated in the centre with an ageing-resistant elastomer. Used with Hydro Monoelasto 100 and Hydro Bielasto 200 cementitious waterproofing systems at floor-wall joints, wall-wall joints, expansion joints, corners and cracks. Its combination of transversal elasticity, longitudinal stiffness, alkali resistance and chlorinated water resistance makes it ideal for tanks and swimming pools.

Alkali & Chlorinated Water Resistant
Water Band waterproofing tape is specifically resistant to alkalis and chlorinated water — making it suitable for use in swimming pools, water tanks and cisterns where chlorinated water is in continuous contact with the joint detail.
>1.5 Bar Hydrostatic Pressure
Resists hydrostatic pressure in excess of 1.5 bar — providing reliable waterproof joint performance in below-ground structures, water-retaining structures and areas subject to water pressure from either side of the joint.
Transversal Elasticity with Longitudinal Stiffness
The unique characteristic of this waterproofing tape is its combination of good lateral elasticity (123% elongation at break) with longitudinal stiffness — making it easy to position accurately in straight runs and around corners without sagging or distortion.
Omega-Formed for Expansion Joints
At expansion joints on terraces and similar surfaces, Water Band waterproofing tape is positioned in an Omega form — the loop absorbs joint movement without stressing the tape or the surrounding waterproofing membrane.
Broad Chemical Resistance
Resistant to hydrochloric acid (3%), sulphuric acid (35%), citric acid, lactic acid, sodium hypochlorite and sea water — suitable for industrial, marine and food processing environments alongside swimming pool and tank applications.
-30°C to +90°C Service Range
The ageing-resistant elastomer core and polyester mesh construction give this waterproofing tape excellent long-term performance stability from -30°C to +90°C across all typical UK environmental conditions.
Water Band — Pre-Formed Polyester Waterproofing Tape
Water Band is Licata's pre-formed polyester mesh waterproofing tape — a flexible band consisting of a polyester mesh fabric substrate coated in the centre with an ageing-resistant elastomer. It is used within Licata's cementitious waterproofing systems — specifically with Hydro Monoelasto 100 and Hydro Bielasto 200 — to seal and reinforce the critical joint details that liquid membranes alone cannot fully protect.
This waterproofing tape is bonded into place using the liquid waterproofing membrane as the adhesive layer — applied to both sides of the joint before the tape is pressed in while the membrane is still fresh. It is thin (0.52mm) and lightweight (29 g/m), making it easy to handle and work into tight corners and complex joint geometries.
Water Band waterproofing tape should never be left exposed to UV rays — it must always be overcoated with the liquid waterproofing membrane after application. Overlap joints in the tape by at least 4cm using the waterproofing membrane or a suitable polyurethane sealant as the joining medium.
