The complete Licata product range

Licata Building Systems manufactures and supplies external wall insulation, render and specialist construction products for projects across the UK. Our range covers everything needed to build a complete facade system, from substrate preparation and insulation through to basecoats, reinforcement and the finish itself.

Every product is designed to work as part of a tested system rather than in isolation. That matters because the performance of a rendered or insulated facade depends on the compatibility of the layers within it, and mixing products from different manufacturers is where certification, guarantees and technical support all break down.

Systems rather than components

A render or external wall insulation build-up is a sequence of layers, each of which affects the ones above and below it. The primer regulates substrate suction so the basecoat cures evenly. The basecoat, with mesh embedded, controls cracking and provides impact resistance. A second primer prepares the surface so the finish reads true in colour. The finish handles weathering, colour and texture.

Change one of those layers for a product from elsewhere and the certification that covers the build-up no longer applies to what has been installed. This is why our products are specified as systems and why our technical team confirms the full build-up rather than individual items.

Certification and documentation

Licata systems hold BBA and KIWA certification, and every product is supplied with a technical data sheet and safety data sheet. On tender submissions, certification is increasingly checked rather than assumed, and technical officers will want to see that the certificate covers the exact build-up proposed rather than a similar system.

We can confirm which certificate applies to your specification and supply the supporting documentation for submissions to councils, housing associations and building control.

Technical support from specification to site

Most problems on a render or insulation project are decided long before anyone reaches site. The wrong system for the substrate, a detail that was never drawn, an insulation thickness that misses the target U-value, or a finish that fails a planning condition all cost far more to fix as variations than to resolve at specification stage.

Our technical team provides system selection, U-value calculations, project-specific detailing and application guidance as part of supplying the system. Technical support continues through procurement and onto site, including installer training where a contractor is new to our systems.

Supply across six UK branches

Products are stocked at six branches in Twickenham, Southgate, Dartford, Wickford, Birmingham and Manchester, each with a trade counter, product samples and local technical support. Delivery is available nationwide, including full-project quantities for housing programmes and larger contracts.
