Texture 2000 — Technological Waterproofing Reinforcement Fabric

Texture 2000 is Licata's waterproofing reinforcement fabric — a 100% polyester technological non-woven fabric specifically designed for reinforcement of liquid waterproofing coatings based on solvent-based polyurethane resins. When embedded between the first and second coats of a Licata liquid waterproofing system, this waterproofing reinforcement fabric significantly enhances the performance of the overall membrane.

The polyester microfibre construction guarantees superior elasticity with controlled dimensional stability — preventing micro-cracking in the cured membrane and improving resistance to puncturing, impact and elongation at break. Its high-tech structure ensures complete two-way elasticity and total incorporation within the waterproofing product.

Texture 2000 waterproofing reinforcement fabric is available in two widths — 1000mm for large field applications and 200mm for detail areas, joints and transitions — on 50-metre rolls for easy site handling.

Used With

Designed for use with Licalastic Scud elastomeric waterproofing coating and other Licata liquid waterproofing products. Used in conjunction with LicaBand BTS 100 waterproofing tape at joints and connections.

Important

Do not apply Texture 2000 waterproofing reinforcement fabric in direct contact with the substrate — it must always be embedded within the liquid waterproofing coating between the first and second coats.

Substrate Preparation

Before applying the waterproofing reinforcement fabric

Clean the substrate: Remove all dust, oil, grease, rising damp, flaky or uneven parts, concrete residue, lime, paint and adhesives — the substrate must be completely clean before applying the liquid waterproofing coating.

Substrate stability: The substrate must be dimensionally stable, non-deformable and fully cured — having completed hygrometric shrinkage. Do not apply to substrates that are still drying or shrinking.

Apply liquid waterproofing first coat: Apply the Licata liquid waterproofing coating (e.g. Licalastic Scud) as a first coat using a brush, roller, airless sprayer or metal float onto the prepared substrate.

Application

Embedding the waterproofing reinforcement fabric

Apply while first coat is fresh: Lay the waterproofing reinforcement fabric onto the first coat of liquid waterproofing while it is still fresh and wet. Do not allow the first coat to dry before placing the fabric.

Press in: Spread the fabric out and apply firm pressure with a float or roller to ensure it fully adheres and is incorporated into the wet waterproofing coating. Remove any air bubbles or wrinkles.

Overlaps: Where lengths of waterproofing reinforcement fabric meet, overlap the sheets by at least 5cm to ensure continuity of reinforcement across the full surface.

Second coat: Once the first coat has hardened with the fabric embedded within it, apply a second coat of the liquid waterproofing coating to fully cover the waterproofing reinforcement fabric.

Never apply Texture 2000 waterproofing reinforcement fabric directly onto the substrate — it must always be between two coats of liquid waterproofing. Store rolls in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
