Description
Rust Acrylic Brick Slip
Licata Acrylic Brick slips have been used to finish interior and exterior walls. Many millions of square meters of façade have been finished using brick slips. Brick slips are ideal for façade cladding, in both technical and aesthetic sense. When brick slips are used in new builds or renovation projects, they are given a masonry look that cannot be distinguished from traditional brickwork. This means that the authentic value of buildings and neighborhoods is retained.
Installation
Please check the brick slips before installing (Correct color? Correct article? Color and size of corners and flats matching together?). The substrate should be clean, dust free, workable, solid and even. Any wallpaper or other residues should be removed before installing the brick slips. We recommend priming the substrate. Spread a suitable flexible adhesive with a toothed spreader by “buttering” both on the back of the slip and on the wall (“buttering-floating”). A string line will be helpful.
Press the brick slips into the adhesive bed with slightly sliding sideways movements, so that they are surrounded by the adhesive completely. Always mix the slips from several packages and several pallets.
If desired, grout traditionally with jointing iron and tiling grout after 24 hours. Always process horizontal and vertical joints together promptly.
Why Choose Rust Acrylic Brick Slips for Modern Facades
Rustic acrylic brick slips offer a smart, efficient alternative to traditional brickwork for both interior and exterior walls. They combine a masonry look with a lightweight profile, reducing both load and installation time. These slips are widely used in renovation projects and new builds where maintaining authentic value is key.
Here’s what makes our rust acrylic brick slips a reliable choice for façade cladding and decorative finishes:
- Low Thickness and Weight: Easy to install without compromising structure or aesthetics.
- Impact Resistant and Washable: Built for long-term durability in exposed conditions.
- Suitable for Various Substrates: Ideal for cement grey, clay, or primed surfaces.
- Flexible Adhesive Application: Works with floating-buttering techniques for secure fitting.
- Over 35 Colours Available: Create a professional brick finish or blend with other colours.
This system is especially suitable for external wall insulation or exterior cladding projects where both visual appeal and weather resistance matter.
Key Features and Finish Options Available

Their low thickness makes them ideal for projects where space or weight is a concern.
The rustic effect brings depth to each surface without losing uniformity. Customers can choose from a full range of finishes to suit various wall applications including fireplaces, external walls, and internal feature areas. Whether you want to retain the charm of older buildings or add a masonry detail to a modern build, the finish delivers both visual and practical results.
All brick slips are tested to ensure they meet UK building regulations, offering confidence across commercial and residential settings.
Technical Advice for Safe and Reliable Application
For best results, always install on a clean, workable and primed substrate. Whether finishing interior and exterior walls or installing over external wall insulation systems, preparation is key. The slips should be fixed using a suitable flexible adhesive and checked for correct corners and colour before applying.
The buttering-floating method is highly recommended. This technique ensures each brick slip is fully bonded to the wall, reducing the chance of movement or air gaps. We also advise mixing slips from several boxes to achieve a consistent visual flow across the surface.
Grout should be applied after 24 hours using a jointing iron, with both horizontal and vertical joints processed promptly for a uniform finish. Always refer to the data sheet before installation to match our quality standards.
