A monocouche render layer can be easy to apply to blockwork or bricks. It is also coloured and resistant to water. Monocouche renders can be applied as a single layer. However, it is usually executed in two separate layers.

The layers are then joined together to create the monocouche layer. The surface of this type of render can be altered to produce any kind of texture you or your client would like. This can include roughcast, dry-dashed, and scraped.

Plaster as a building material has been with us since the time of the ancient Greeks. It endures because it is versatile, affordable, easy to apply and highly durable. Plaster renders have the added benefit of adhering to any substrate, drying quickly, resisting moisture and repelling algae and mould. Importantly, plaster is light enough that it will not present an undue burden on older walls and it is available in a multitude of colours.

There are three kinds of renders that are thin-coated, including silicone, acrylic, and mineral. Thin coat renders are applied quickly, are water-resistant and resistant to cracks and look attractive. The long-lasting and water-resistant properties of silicon thin coatings are what make them well-known.
